CredVerify

Baobab Labs · Stellar Wave

Stop calling the
registrar's office.

A forged degree looks identical to a real one on paper. CredVerify puts the attestation on-chain instead — so an employer anywhere can check a credential's authenticity in seconds, without ever contacting the institution.

The mechanism

Issued once, checkable forever

  1. 01

    Institution issues the credential

A registered issuer attests a credential type, title, and institution, tied to the holder's Stellar address.

  2. 02

    Holder shares their credential ID

On a CV, in a job application, wherever they'd normally list a qualification.

  3. 03

    Verifier checks it directly

Anyone can query the chain and see the credential's details, whether the issuer is still registered, and whether it's been revoked.

  4. 04

    Issuer can revoke if needed

If a credential is later found fraudulent or issued in error, the original issuer can revoke it — visible to anyone checking, immediately.

Why not just call the university

Because that doesn't scale
past the first phone call

Manual verification puts the burden on every employer, forever, for every credential ever issued — and breaks entirely if the institution closes, merges, or simply doesn't answer. An on-chain attestation persists independently of any single office picking up the phone.
